Chicago Snowstorm or "Snowmaggedon" of 2011

Yesterday afternoon, the snow started to fall at a rate of 1-3 inches per hour, and the wind picked up to 50+ MPH!  Everyone who was downtown did a mad dash to get home for the evening, including Todd and my Dad.  Trains were packed, and the roads a mess.  The commute home for most was challenging.  It continued to snow, and snow, and snow through the night. The craziest part was the thunder snow, I had never experienced that before.  Today there was no school all over Chicagoland!  The end result was 19 to 21 inches of snow based on where you lived in the Chicago area.  We received 19.5 inches of SNOW!  And now it is being followed by extremely COLD temperatures!
The view out our front door this morning, nice 5 foot snow drifts!

This is when I am super glad that we pay for snow removal service!
Here is those 5 foot drifts I was talking about.

And well, Nolan thought this snow was just AMAZINGLY FUN! Oh, to be 2 years old again!

The drifts are as tall or taller than him!
Sitting on top of the 5 foot drift!

Daddy and Nolan made a tunnel in the snow drift!  Nolan had a wonderful time playing in the snow!

I think he would like a SNOW DAY everyday!!!
