Easter Egg Fun!

With Easter just around the corner we decided to take Nolan to see the Easter Bunny, and for an Egg Hunt. He was not so fond of the big bunny, but liked to observe from a far. He did however, LOVE....finding the EGGS!  Grandma and Grandpa came to spectate in the fun as well.

In the morning before we had left the house, he was carrying around the Easter Baskets, saying,
"EGGS!"

We had to wait patiently at the Barrington Park District for the Egg Hunt to start, but he was VERY patient.

Once they said, GO, he was off collecting as many EGGS as he could get his little hands on!

"These Easter Eggs ARE GREAT!"

Bubble Bath FUN

A few months ago Nolan was afraid of the bath tub. I don't know why, but he would stand and I would wash him down. It was a quick in and out process. Well, that is no more! He now absolutely loves bath time. All day long he goes into the bathroom, points at the tub and says "bath."
So tonight we decided we would give him a special treat, a bubble bath in our jacuzzi tub. He was not a fan of the jets circulating water, but once we turned those off--he absolutely loved his bubble bath!

We love OUTSIDE!

Today we got outside! It was in the 60's and sunny, and we have been cooped up all winter. And Nolan points to the door and says "ou sie," meaning--MOM, let's go outside.

So OUT we went. And my little man is not afraid to meet new friends. He instantly found the neighbors, and they enjoyed playing with him too. This is Ashley and Olivia, they are in 4th grade.

Playing in the grass!

We also played with Wrigley, she enjoys the nice weather TOO!

I am already realizing we are going to be "ou sie" A LOT this summer.

Happy St. Patrick's Day 2010!

Wishing everyone a very LUCKY St. Patrick's Day!!!

Just CUTE!

Nolan is 22 months old today! I cannot believe IT! He is such a wonderful and sweet little boy.

He is at a wonderful age of fun and curiousity, he loves to explore and play. He loves to cuddle. And he is learning his WORDS!

Yesterday he was at his preschool class, and after class we are all walking up the stairs, well Nolan is sort of crawling up the stairs. Here is our conversation:

Mom: Nolan can you move over you are blocking the stairwell for the other children.
Nolan: I know!

I just broke out laughing, all the moms in the stairwell laughed, and Nolan looked at us and giggled too!

I am not sure where he learned, "I know!" But it was just so darn CUTE!

I adore my little MAN.

The babbles of Nolan

I cannot believe that Nolan will be 22 months this Friday, crazy how time goes by so quickly. My baby is almost two, but according to Nolan he is not a baby. He will point to "babies, aka under 1 year old," and say Baby. When we were out with friends who have "babies," he kept saying, Hi Baby. Like he is not a baby anymore, and he wants you to know that! It is VERY CUTE!

Over the past month he has really began to talk.  He says new words on a daily basis.  He has been working on counting and the alphabet.  Here is a little video, not the best--he was sitting in front of me, but still cute to hear him say his words!

Our Trip to Jackson Hole

Todd and I were very lucky to take a trip for a long weekend, thanks to the help of our parents!  We visited our friend Dan in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  It was a wonderful weekend, and I am exhausted from our trip.

Some highlights of our trip:

The weather was in the 30's and sunny everyday!  Awesome weather for skiing/snowboarding!  And a big change from the overcast skies of Chicago.  The mountain was beautiful and we got some great pictures.

On Wednesday we went and spectated an event called Gelande Quaffing.  This is a crazy beer drinking event.  Basically they have teams of 4 people, who slide beer down a bar top, and the person on the other end chugs the beer. He then runs around and pushes a beer down the top to another teammate and so on. This event takes place outside in the snow.  It is quite entertaining to watch!

We ate dinner at The Peak in Teton Village.  We had a special 5 course dinner with a beer pairing with each course.  The beer is brewed at the Snake River Brewery.  We got to talk to the brewmaster, and learn about how they brew the beer. The meal was excellent.  We even had venison which I have never eaten before.

Thursday, I was brave and took a snowboarding lesson, it was supposed to be a group lesson, but I ended up 1 on 1.  Which was awesome, and I actually learned how to get down the mountain!   I snowboarded for three days on our trip.  Todd skied, and had a great time as well.

We took a trip to the Snake River and walked along the river, again just beautiful scenery in the background.

On our last night in Jackson Hole we went to a ski jump party.  This was a true event for the locals of Jackson Hole!  I would estimate that over 500 people from Jackson Hole were at this party.  The highlight was the ski jumping!  Everyone was outside watching people climb up on the roof of the garage, ski down a ski jump and over a bonfire.  The tricks in the air were amazing, and it was quite fun to watch.  I of course thought to myself, that these guys are a little "crazy", for jumping over fire--but then I am not an expert skier.  At the end of the night they took the snowmobiles on the roof, and jumped the bonfire as well.

We certainly enjoyed our time with our friends, but of course we were happy to come home to Nolan!  Thanks again to our parents who were so nice to let us get away!
