TOYS, TOYS, and more TOYS!

Santa was very good to Nolan this year, he must have been a very well behaved little boy! He received many gifts from Santa, and from his family. He loves all of his new toys, but he is especially fond of the the little tikes shopping cart, the Thomas the train tent, and his blocks!

Thank you to my family who brought me all these GREAT TOYS!

I love my BLOCKS!

This Thomas Tent is so much FUN! I like making Daddy play in the tent with me, even though he doesn't fit as well.

The Little Tikes shopping cart is the perfect size to hold my TOYS!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Having a child really brings back the spirit of Christmas! As adults we take for granted the amazement of the lights on the Christmas tree, the snow falling, and "the magic of Santa." Having Nolan certainly reminded me about the spirit of Christmas, and how special of an event it is.

Christmas 2009 was spent with having a wonderful time with family! We celebrated Christmas Eve at our house with a mexican fiesta with both sides of our family. The food was great, and the company even better. Nolan had a great time opening presents, and with all the hugs and attention from his relatives.

Christmas Day we went to the Hassman Household for another party, a wonderful brunch. The food was great and we had a very nice time. Nolan again got spoiled with several presents, and he wanted to open every package and play with what was inside. Taking the paper off the box was just not good enough!!!

Nolan's Tumble Time Class

Nolan has been in Tumble time for about 4 months now. It is on Tuesday mornings for 45 minutes. It is a class the provides activities along with group circle song time. He loves to run around, but I would say his favorite part is to sing songs and blow bubbles. He has come a long way since the class started. He used to be afraid of the slide, trampoline, obstacle course--and now he does all with a smile on! The video below is segments from class. Funny note- every class he chooses a different mom and sits on her lap or gives them a hug--he loves to be loved! So you will see him in the video sitting on Ms. Sue's lap with her little boy Matthew next to him. I am glad he is not afraid of others, and likes to be LOVED! What else is silly in this video, is he seemed to be tired in class, and he spent time just lying on the mats--just relaxing!

Santa Arrives By Helicopter!

The South Barrington Park District had a special visit today from Santa! Santa arrived by Helicopter. Nolan was quite impressed with the helicopter circling in the air and landing right in front of us, and then Santa arrives! Santa is definitely traveling in style.

We then headed inside with our friends Katelyn and Jodi for a special visit from Santa himself! Nolan is still a little shy in front of the big guy, but Santa gave him a Candy Cane!

Nolan made all sorts of Christmas crafts! He decorated a sleigh, made an ornament, strung a necklace, colored, and decorated a cupcake. Can you guess what was his favorite??

The trip ended with a special treat, a TRAIN ride! Nolan got to take his first little train ride, he was very excited by the colors of the train. He was a little nervous to sit by himself-so mommy came along for the ride!

It was a great day!

First Snow 2009

Chicago has now been blessed with the first snow of the season! Last year I showed Nolan the snow, but he really didn't understand. This morning Nolan was in awe of the snow outside, he just kept pointing and repeating "WOW!" This afternoon we got on our coats, snow pants, hats, gloves, boots--to the point that he couldn't move because he was all bundled up. And we trekked outside. The minute the snow hit Nolan's little boots, he says "Uh Oh!" I think he was concerned that the snow was on his boots, and he could hardly walk because he was so bundled up. But he walked around and just kept pointing at the snow. Even though he was afraid to touch it with his hand, he loved my making snowballs and throwing the snow around. Nolan certainly giggled and had a great time in the first snow of the season!
