Nolan's Visit to the Petting Zoo

I am a little behind on this post.  We went to the petting zoo at the Arlington Park Race Track on 5/1/10 for the Kentucky Derby.  Nolan loved watching the horse races with us.  He was enthralled by the horses, and couldn't wait for the next race to begin every half hour.

But the highlight of the day was his trip to the Petting Zoo at the race track.  He loved the goats and sheep, and he loved feeding the animals too!  He was running around giggling, and didn't want to leave.  Here is a few pictures of that fun.

First Warm Days of Spring/Summer

We had some nice weather in Chicago this past weekend!  Today it was almost too warm, giving us a preview for the typical 90 and humid summer weather that is to come.  I think it reached 87 degrees here today.  Well, since it was so gorgeous out, and almost too hot to go to the park--I got out the baby pool for Nolan.

He LOVED it, that is an understatement!  We were outside for over an hour in the baby pool, and I had to drag him in when it was nap time.  Only for him to wake up and instantly he was asking to go back in, so that is just what we did.

He enjoyed filling the bucket with water and dumping it into the water spinner.

Nolan was not camera shy today, he even posed for the camera for me.  Which is a first!

Below is just too funny.  Wrigley decided to have a slurp of water, so Nolan thought it was a good idea to try some too!

Nolan and I had a FUN day!  After pool time in the afternoon, we took Wrigley for a walk, and met some of our neighbors.  They have a little girl who is Nolan's age, and they have a BIG sandbox.  Nolan decided he LOVED the sandbox very much--I again had to drag him home.
I am positive the little man will sleep GREAT tonight!

Happy 2nd Birthday Nolan!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweet Nolan Graham!

First of all, I cannot believe that my little man Nolan is going to be 2, on the 12th of May!  Time has gone so quickly, and he is growing up so fast.  He is now a little boy, and he expresses his needs and wants, he has the CUTEST personality and giggles, and I LOVE HIM!

For his birthday party we celebrated Finding Nemo style with our family.  He loves the movie, "Finding Nemo,"  Dory and Nemo are his favorite fishes.  He has a stuffed Nemo stuffed animal that he sleeps with every night.  The party decorations were a big hit.  He loved the Nemo table clothes and hanging decorations, and absolutely LOVED the Finding Nemo cake.

There was certainly a big difference between this year (2) and last year his first birthday.  He got the concept of the party, and he enjoyed opening the presents that contained TOYS.  He enjoyed everyone's attention, and playtime.

I love my bowling set!

Another special event of the day was the surprise we had for everyone for Mother's Day!
We announced that we are expecting a little bundle of JOY in December of 2010.
Nolan had the honors, he opened a package with a t-shirt that said, "I'm Going to Be a Big Brother."
The grandparents were ECSTATIC!!
We are very excited to be adding to our family!

Visit to the Chicago Children's Museum

Yesterday Todd and his parents took Nolan to the Chicago Children's Museum at Navy Pier.  I unfortunately had to work so I missed out on all the fun!  I know Nolan had FUN with his Daddy and his Grandparents!

My baby looks so grown UP!  I can't believe he will be two years old in three weeks.

No Surprise--Nolan's favorite thing--

Our Trip To Lake Geneva

Since Todd and I just celebrated our 4th year anniversary, we thought it would be nice to get away as a family for the weekend.  We went up to Lake Geneva, WI.

We walked on the beach, and into the cute little shops.

We stayed at the Abbey Resort and Spa in Fontana, WI and Nolan enjoyed wandering around the marina.  He liked chasing the ducks and pointing at the boats.

But Nolan's favorite part of the trip was swimming in the pool.  He called it a "Bath."  He swam three times in 12 hours and had a blast!!

I am certainly glad we got to have a little getaway, and think we need to do that more often.
