A Letter To My Son

We are getting ready to head back to preschool.  This is your last year of preschool--next year you will be a big kid and off to kindergarten.  I am not sure that mommy is ready for that stage yet!  I was thinking about the past four years and decided to write you a little letter to go along with the pictures I took.

To My Nolan, I love you so much!  You have grown so much over the past 4 years.  I love how your imagination is always running...from your play with trains and cars, to angry birds.   You are always creating some sort of game.  Even the board games with “rules” you like to put your own spin on it.  You have the biggest heart, I’m so glad that you are the boy that you are, and for the man that I know you will become.  I never have to worry that you won’t be thoughtful, or kind.   I hope that no matter what stage you’re at and no matter what responsibilities you have – your love of life always holds strong in your heart.  I hope that your face continues to light up with excitement when you’re an adult just as it has so many days of your childhood so far.  I hope that you always have plenty of reasons to love life and to remember how sweet and precious it truly is.  Keep dreaming big my boy!

For now, I am so thankful for that you are still a mama’s boy.  I love the hugs, snuggles, and kisses.  I am looking forward to the few years we have left of the super hero play.  I look forward to your growing imagination, all the fun with sports, games, and school that is to come!
