Nolan LOVES the book, "Good Night Moon!" He has been reading this book to me lately, and it is super cute to hear his rendition of what the book says.

Christmas 2010
This year Christmas was quite special in the Hassman-Maycunich household! Mainly because we were blessed with our most precious gift, AVERY. Todd and I couldn't be more joyful that we are now a family of 4, and that our children are happy and healthy.
Christmas Eve was spent at our house with Todd's and my families. Everyone had such a great time. And of course loved holding the baby!

This Christmas was really fun. Nolan is at an age where he "gets it" this year, he understands the concept of Santa, and he loved opening all of the presents. He especially loved the Wii and his remote control cars.
On Christmas morning Nolan was so happy that Santa had visited. I think he initially thought that Santa would be here when he awoke, but was thrilled there was presents under the tree for him. Santa even ate the cookie and drank the milk that Nolan had left for him.

Christmas Day was spent at Grandma and Grandpa Hassman's for brunch. The food was delicious and Nolan and Avery got even more presents!

The Excitement and Anticipation of Christmas!
Our Nolan is getting so excited about Christmas this year.
He loves our Christmas Tree.
He is so anticipating the Christmas Gifts, and of course Santa's arrival.
He is excited about the stockings, and leaving cookies for Santa.
He has been taking in everything for the past few weeks.
He is so cute about it all!
And I don't know who is more excited....Nolan or me?
I loved the magic of Christmas as a child, but now I get to experience it through the eyes of my child, and I think that is even more amazing!

Sugar Cookie Snowmen
In the spirit of the holidays, Nolan and I attempted to make Sugar Cookie Snowmen today. I had a little difficulty getting the dough to cooperate for the cookie cutter. But Nolan and I had lots of fun anyway. He definitely had fun decorating the cookies.

Nolan's Preschool Holiday Party
Today Grandpa Hassman and I took Nolan to his classroom holiday party. He was excited this morning to be having a party at school. It is really cute to see his classroom, and his classmates all decorating than eating sugar cookies coated--knowing the sugar high that will follow! Good thing after the cookies we moved to play some games in the auditorium.
Before game time, Nolan was being Mr. Intellectual reading Clifford in his classroom library section.
Waiting patiently sitting in line for the game to begin! Which is amazing to see. At Halloween, these children could not follow directions, or sit still. And now they were asked to sit down, and they all DID!

He wanted to show me Mr. Snowman!
His favorite activity at the party was coloring paper plates. This was a big hit with all the children!

We all sang Jingle Bells and played Musical Cards!

Tummy Time
Today I decided to try a little tummy time with Avery. She loves to lay on her tummy on her Daddy's chest, so I thought she might enjoy tummy time. Well, she was good for about 1 minute and then she wanted to be picked back up.

Big Brother/Little Sister
It has been obvious that Nolan loves Avery. He always checks on her, and lets me know when she is crying. He has been a bit shy to hold her, and we had been keeping them apart because he had a cold. Yesterday we were taking Christmas photos, and he was still a bit shy to hold Avery. Well, last night he asked to hold her, and he wanted to help with her bottle. The moment was just very CUTE! Nolan is going to be a very caring and LOVING Big Brother!

Santa Arrives By Helicopter
This morning we took Nolan to see Santa arrive by helicopter in South Barrington. It is really cool to see the red helicopter fly in, and land and out comes Santa! Nolan thought that was really neat, especially since he is so into anything that deals with transportation.
He also loved waiting for the helicopter to arrive, because he had a few minutes to play in the snow. We had forgotten Nolan's gloves, so he wore Daddy's which worked just fine.
After Santa arrived, we went in to Santa's workshop where Nolan worked on a few craft projects for the holidays!
