Nolan's First Friend Birthday Party

Nolan celebrated his friend Daphne's second birthday today!  Daphne had a Dora the Explorer Party at the YMCA.  So everyone played in the adventure center, ate pizza and cake--and just had fun.

The funniest little event of the day though...

Nolan wanted to play Wii, and the sign said, you must be 5 to play the Wii.

Nolan held up 5 fingers and pointed to himself, "Like I am 5."  Then he proceeded to tell me that Daphne is 2!

I said, "Nolan you are 2."  He said, "No, Daphne 2."  And grabbed the Wii controller.  

Our little man certainly thinks he is a big kid, and likes to play with the big kids!

Trip to the Randall Oaks Petting Zoo

Yesterday we met our friends, Katelyn, Ava, and Tyler at the Randall Oaks Petting Zoo.  Nolan had fun playing with his friends, but he loved feeding the animals.  I think his favorite was the sheep.  He also liked the angus cow.  He kept saying, BIG TONGUE--as the cow was eating the feed Nolan had.  We played at the park and had a picnic lunch.  Here are some pictures of the adventure.

Sweet Baby

It is so wonderful to know the love shared between two people can create such an amazing miracle, the life of a child!  When I was carrying Nolan, I was amazed by the miracle that grows inside.  Again with our second little miracle, I am amazed by the growth of this precious little baby.  I am so in LOVE with Nolan, and also already so in LOVE with our second baby! We cannot wait to meet him or her! I know that any parent understands this LOVE.

Here are the ultrasound pictures at 7 weeks 5 days with our 2nd baby.

Some FACTS: At 7 weeks, the baby has an amazing growth spurt. At the beginning of this week, your baby is approximately 4 to 5 mm and by the end of the week it has more than doubled to 11 to 13 mm! Your baby weights approximately 0.03 ounces. 

Your baby's leg and arm buds are longer now and they have divided into segments where the hands and feet will be. The hands and feet also have an area where the fingers and toes will begin to form. At this point of your pregnancy, the heart is bulging from the body and it has divided into right and left chambers. The brain's hemispheres are continuing to grow and the air passages into the lungs are visible. Your baby's eyes are beginning to get pigment. The nose is developing and the beginning of the face can be seen. The baby's abdomen is developing quickly and the appendix and pancreas are already present. Your baby's digestive tract is beginning to form and the hindgut is present.

13 weeks Ultrasound Pictures

Nolan has been very cute.  I have been talking about the BABY to him lately, and explaining the baby is growing in "mommies tummy."  So today, I took him to see the ultrasound pictures of the baby.  He is still working on grasping the concept.  But he will point at my belly and say, "Baby."  Too CUTE!

By 13 weeks:  This is the last week of your first trimester and your baby weighs 14 to 20 grams. The crown-to-rump length of your growing baby is 2.6 to 3.1 inches. Your baby is now about the size of a peach. 

Keep on GROWING little one!!!  Daddy, Mommy, Nolan, and you're whole family cannot wait till we meet you in 27 more weeks!
